Every year, JLB partners with another local nonprofit to help assist in revitalizing a space, cleaning a facility, gathering needed items, or another activity to promote the organization. In 2017, we partnered with Abuse Alternatives, Inc. Abuse Alternatives, Inc. is committed to providing quality services through direct support and advocacy to the victims of domestic violence with the goal of eliminating the pattern of abusive behaviors from the lives of those individuals and their families. Our Day of Service was spent renovating the children's space at the facility. Thank you to everyone who participated!
This national program provides a "take a book, return a book" gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. JLB's Little Free Libraries are located throughout the Greater Bristol areas.

Voluntarism is the act of contributing free labor to conduct community service or support a nonprofit organization. It is the principle of donating time and energy towards a greater cause. Volunteers help change the lives of those in their community as a social responsibility rather than receiving a financial reward.
Some form of this word is found in each part of the JLB's purpose. We invite each of you to volunteer your time and talents alongside us at our upcoming events. Learn more about the Association of Junior League's.
We are proud to partner with the following organizations: Girls Inc., Isaiah 117 House, a variety of schools, Northeast Tennessee Second Harvest Food Bank, Food City, among others.

Known as the Little Free Library project, the program promotes a love of books and reading by getting written works into the hands of as many readers as possible.
In 2015, seven Little Free Libraries were placed around Bristol by the Junior League in hopes of putting books into the hands of those who may not be able to get to the library or have the resources to purchase books to read. The libraries are spread around so people of different ages have access to them.
In 2018, JLB applied for a grant from the City of Bristol, Tennessee to add a Little Free Library at each of the Bristol, Tennessee elementary schools. A local Boy Scout group constructed five additional libraries. Each library holds 30-40 books and anyone in the community can borrow a book and then return it or exchange it for one of their own.
Locations are: Girls, Inc., Healing Hands Health Center, Hospice House, Slater Community Center, Steele Creek Park, Sugar Hollow Park and YMCA.
Elementary schools are Anderson, Avoca, Fairmount, Haynesfield and Holston View.
